Tina’s Baby Belly | Edmonton Maternity Photographer

The sun shining through the trees I met up with Tina and Al at the Royal Alberta Museum to catch up and of course get some great shots of her and her baby bump! Tina came into our lives about 4 years ago and we got close really fast! Sharing a house will do that! Brian (and his stomping feet) and I and our ever expanding family lived on the top floor of a duplex and Tina lived on the bottom. When I got pregnant with Hunter (shortly after she moved in) she got to hear my miserable mornings through the wonders of a not very sound proof floor. You’d think that would turn her off kids but as long as I’ve known Tina she’s wanted to be a mom. I know she has been looking forward to having a family of her own and to experiencing that special love you can only have for your child. And now my dear girl this is your time – in a few short weeks life changes forever. I’m so thankful that Brian and I could share in this special time in your life!

Brian and I moved away about a month after Adelle was born. I hope I can be as much of a help to Tina as she was to me after my babies were born! Love ya girl – congrats again!

Last week I had the pleasure of reconnecting with couple I knew several years ago. It was fun to see them again now 10 years and 3 kids later! (Sarah you look fantastic!)

Julia has two older brothers – so you can imagine how exciting it is for the family to have a girl! She’s another beautiful baby – so tiny and precious…enough talk I know… I’ll let the sneak peek images speak for themselves!

Mother’s Day at Devonian Gardens

What a beautiful Day we had! We decided to do something different this year and met my parents and sister and her family at the Devonian Botanical Gardens.

I can’t wait to go back in a few weeks once everything is in bloom! As it turned out – the gardens were typical of an Edmonton garden at this time of year, but the greenhouses were full of gorgeous colorful flowers! It was a wonderful day with my family…and my camera!

A Mother’s Day project

Every mother’s day I make calendars for my mom and my mother in law. I fill them with pictures of my kids – and so far they’ve been a hit. Once again I’m cutting it close in the creation of these babies – but it’s been a good night looking over the past year of my children’s lives as well as seeing my own growth photography wise. This was my favorite month. These images were taken just two days ago – and they capture the essence of my children right now (well at least them in a good mood – because seriously the essence of a 1 and 2 year old is more like screaming half the time tee hee).

I admit I haven’t been keeping up with my blog. But how can I not post about my favorite subject! This little guy was AMAZING! At 3.5 weeks I expected that I would have to work for every shot – but he made it easy! He has such a sweet little temperment and he is so loved by his mom and dad (who can blame them – I’m half in love with him myself! It was a great afternoon! I love my job!

Also a big thank you to Stephanie from Warmth on the Brain for the use of her gorgeous hats!

Saturday was one of the most beautiful January days I have seen in my life. Fortunately I had a great newly engaged couple to spend it with! We grabbed some shots in the studio, then headed out to enjoy the sunshine…and snow. They were so patient while I tried out some new things – but I think it paid off with some of the awesome shots we got! So I say many thanks to those two and congratulate them once again on their engagement!

Little miss “L” graciously allowed me to photograph her at only 3 days old! She’s absolutely gorgeous isn’t she! It’s no secret that I love babies – they are so fresh and new, and cuddly. Not to mention that sweet baby smell! I have to photograph newborns or we’d have more children then we could handle!

Christmas in Canada

What a wonderful family! Despite some technical difficulties with my lighting the G family was fantastic – and so very patient! The kids were visiting from the states but we were able to squeeze in a little photoshoot to capture their time together for Christmas! They even braved the cold to get some outdoor shots. Here are a couple of my favorites. The backdrop is a new one and I am loving it! You’ll likely see many many more shots with it in the near future!

I had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful family on Sunday. It’s so great to be able to come into people’s homes and see their dynamic and how the interact with each other. Being so close to Christmas as well there’s just something special in the air. Thank you so much for allowing Brian and I to come into your home and watch you in action.
